The best aspect of installing wood furnishing is that it lends the home a warm and classic look. However, continuous exposure to dirt, grime and the elements of nature strip it off its natural shine making it drab and dull. Proper maintenance is an essential factor to ensure the furniture lasts a long time.
This involves regularly cleaning and polishing the surface to maintain the shine. While it is not always economical to invest in a commercially available polish, you can always resort to homemade polish to keep the wooden surface brand new. Besides, you could develop skin irritations and rashes due to the petroleum distillates and other harmful chemicals present in the marketed varieties of polish. Instead, you can use naturally available material to make a wood polish at home.

While rubbing, make sure you move the cloth in the direction of the wood grain. To apply the polish to the corners and other such areas which are not easily accessible, you can use a soft bristled toothbrush dipped into the liquid.
Regular application of these natural ingredients will provide the wooden furniture with adequate nourishment which is essential to keep its inherent lustrous properties intact. They also help to preserve the surface for many years and thus increase its lifespan.
